72duster-finally

ok i'm taking my slant 6 out of my 72 duster and will replace it with a 318. i have nothing to start out with, im building the 318 from scrach. what should i start with buying?

I would look for a complete running engine for starters. Make sure you can hear it run. If not, only pay what a core charge woudl cost you cause you never know what is in that motor. I cruise craogslist a lot, and have come across some killer deals. Be warry tho of those that would try to scam you.

As for parts, not knowing what you want out of it, here is what I am going to do with my 318:

• 9.5:1 CR pistons
• Mopar Performance M1 Dual plane intake
• MP 268 cam ( P4452783 )
• Edelbrock 600 or Holley 650 carb
• Headers, and 2.5" dual exhaust with an X Pipe

That is the basics of my otor I'm going to put together. Also get a good valve job, and if you can afford it, get some good port work done to open up the heads.
