Value of 69 dart question

Hi, first post here.

I located a 69 Dart with 82K and a 225 6 (auto) in it. I have not looked at it yet, but the car appears very clean. Not much rust no crashes most everything working.

Car is a 2 door, hardtop I am almost certain a hardtop.

Any thoughts on value, guy is asking $6500.00???????

My plan is to swap out the engine to a 340, maybe a 318 and the trans most likely also.

TIA

I don't see it. When I bought my 67, a 273, auto, GT, it has a very straight body, NO rust and I mean NONE, although the 273/ auto were both "ill." Had a nice headliner, good glass, and "driver" paint. One front seat was torn some, and foam is getting rotten inside. Front carpet needs replaced.

I paid 5K for it a year ago, and prices have not improved (up) since then.

He sounds very proud of that car. Unless it is an awesome '69 clean and straight with air, it isn't worth the money. If it is as nice as a $6500 slant six car should be, then leave it alone and drive it.
