What kills differentials is torque, not hp. If you do not do too much WOT on 1st gear, and you are careful on the shift from 1st to 2nd, it will hold for a while ....

I've been through a few diffs in my cosworth days, in theory the 440 should make over 400 hp and over 500lbft, being open diff my guess is diff will be fine it will just spin 1 tyre all the time lol

Ordered 90 amp 1 wire alternator today along with a rewire should then be able to set it up properly, just need wideband on and tune the carb and should be good to go hopefully, il get a video of tearing up my 1/4 mile farm concrete / tarmac road

We physically can't fit a bigger rad it won't fit, that is a modern 5 core 1" deeper and 3" taller than original core

Gearbox engages gears just have a brake shoe stuck on now to release and I can try it up the road, and the bonnet wont close but if I fit a 14"x2" filter element I think it will.

It starts on the button and revs clean half throttle or full throttle no bog down at all stationary

Facebook Post

feels good so far, first time I nailed it it filled the car with tyre smoke , one of my fitters grabbed his phone and filmed second one, didn't pull anywhere near as hard and shes now banging from trans and can smell burning trans oil so something is amiss in gearbox now, engine seems good though so far so back on the ramp she goes lol.

I shall only do it if it fails, havnt had time to fit trans yet but I'm sure torque is defiantly problem like I've seen on my cat dozers engine labouring , full of oil , overheating and smoke from bell housing, not sure what noise was it was loud clonking from trans tunnel

Well we let the trans oil out today it was brand new oil done just 4 miles of testing, it's now as black as engine oil and stinks of burning so definitely was a serious problem in there

New trans and torque is now all bolted in, just a few small bits to finish off and test drive again hopefully all good now

The car is all back together jacked up and ran through all gears up to 60 mph a few times. Set max ignition timing at 35 degrees, to wet to run up the road though outside my workshop is a mix of hardcore and clay from dozers so need to wait til it dry or a frost to get it out, definitely runs sweeter now though I think the old torque was acting as a brake
