Cam suggestions and hp estimates

400 block
400 rod
4.380 bore
3.9" stroke
440 source heads (80cc)
Aiming for about 11.5 CR (unless you guys think that's to high for 93 octain)

Cam ?

Aproxx 25002500lbs vehicle
Hoping to put manual transmission. But if auto will be about 3500 stall
3:55, 3:91 rear.

I would say 10.5 CR max, but would go lower myself.

What pistons are you putting in it?

Make it 12.5 and run e-85.

Have a set of pistons for a 451stroker. But had a 470 crank basically handed to me. Was looking to cut .05-.06" off the top of pistons to make up for added stroke.

Ya , I wouldn't go there.

Get a good set of pistons and H beam rods. But before you o have the crank magnafluxed and check it for undersize etc..

The thing about the 400 block is you need to have it sonic checked because the walls are THIN and with core shift are not centerd. You might check three or six blocks before you find one you can bore to 4.375 safely. I would go with the smallest overbore need to reduce the risk of blowing the walls out of the cylinders.
