I would like to make a suggestion.. Take the trans the rest of the way out and replace all of the external seals.. Or at least replace the front pump seal. Old seal hanging on the converter could start leaking..

I took a look at the seal behind the converter and it looked good, but the book I am following says it will more than likely leak due to who knows what. So, I have it in hand but do I go by the rule, if its not broke don't fix?

That is a great suggestion, I've been teetering on doing this. Any details on how many seals I am looking for?

Thanks man, my Grandpa was very proud of this car, it was the only thing he owned in his short life. I just want to make him proud. Gotta be honest you nearly jerked a tear but I'm at work and so...
Anyway thank you, and I appreciate all who've chimed in here.
Thank you and more updates will be posted. Exciting! Expensive but exciting.

Hello again...
I just picked up my 383 from the machine shop after a complete rebuild. I am HOPING to put her back in its home (engine bay) inside the car, this weekend.
Please let me know of any tips you can provide for break in.
Rev rpms when first started up
Stop go?
How long on highway if at all?
Cruise speed?
Any help with procedural break in is MUCH APPRECIATED.

MAKE SURE to put some zinc additive in the oil for cam break in get everything set as close as possible. start and run the motor for 20 minutes at around 2K RPM put a box fan in front of the radiator to aid cooling
