1979 Little Red Express - new owner
Hello All,
We just purchased a 1979 LRT and am looking for some advice on steps to get this truck road ready. The truck has sat idle for 30+ years but is complete and original, has 26,000 miles and had lived its (storage) life in a climate controlled environment. What steps would you all recommend to safely bring this back to the street? Order of operation would be helpful; gas tank drop & clean, fluid flush, spark plugs/cap/rotor, etc.
Thank you!
Jon

Of course you need to replace all fluids.
the brakes are going to need everything hoses, calipers, wheel cylinders and possibly lines.
next if the thing was parked with fuel in the tank the fuel tank will need to be cleaned out, I would replace all fuel hoses and filter then rebuild the carb.
well that’s a start I’m sure I’m forgetting something but this will keep you busy for a while.
Good luck

You will want to replace all rubber lines - vacuum lines, brake booster, etc...they will be dry rotted.
When you pull the plugs spray some marvel mystery oil in every cylinder and let it sit while you are getting other things done.
Fresh oil/filter and the same for the transmission
Last item - you will need new tires
