I have a 77 adventurer se150 with the 440 4bbl is this the magnum or not.

Nope they were 200 hp smog dog’s, however with the right parts you can have 400 to 500 hp…

Do a compression check first and if it passes a cam and timing set with a new damper would be a great start. But having a 45 year old engine that doesn’t have issues is a rarity so I would address those first.
