In-cab to frame mount fuel tank

I hope you all can help me identify my issue.

Just got a 1975 D100 stepside which has a 360/727 combo. Did a VIN check and it originally was a slant 6/ 3 speed manual.

It has the fuel tank under the bed and from what I've read most of those trucks should have come with an in-cab tank. My previous D100 was a 1976 which had the frame mount tank.

Did the stepsides all come with frame mount or when did they change over?
