Gas tank vent valve
what do these Gus do? More importantly, when it comes out of the tank and make a 90 degree turn that pice appears to have a hose fitting. Do that just vent to atmosphere? Or is there a tube connecting up to something?
i recently got did of a fuel cell and installing the tank. So no real reference of how it looked before.

There are three ports at the sending unit. Assuming one is for fuel line, second is larger diameter and seems to go to filler neck vent, and third seems to go to charcoal canister. That’s how I connected. Went for a short drive and got gas a minute if two after coming home heard a weird belch and fluid every where. Thought I had popped a hose but it was gasoling spewing from charcoal canister.
there is another smaller plastic valve on rthe other end on the top. From reading it appears to be a “anti roll over” valve that vents but if touch rolls valve closes to keep from spullling fuel. It has a small (1/4-3/8”) fitting for a hose and for the life of me doesn’t seem to have a place to connect.
At at any rate, it looks like I smashed the elbow and closed opening of this remote port. Wondering if back pressure because tank couldn’t vent, sent fuel up to
the canister?
there doesn’t seem to be an OE replacement that I have found but Dorman has a Help! piece that will likely work. Any additional thoughts?

Was the charcoal canister mounted high in the engine compartment and do you have a vacuum line going to the carb from the canister?
I would make sure the fill vent was open and the line didn't get kinked on install.

Canister High in normal location.
The hose was not connected to the carb when this happened. Actually sort of glad it wasn’t. Not sure if I would have sucked fuel into the vacuum port or consequences if it would have.
a lot going on this week but as soon as I have time I plan to pull the bed floor (stepside wood bed replaced with sheet of plywood), pull the sending unit and check all connections. Will try to post up a couple of pics.
