pain in the a%% headers

pain in the a%% headers

just got my headers on and the inner tie rod is hitting the headers.....im assuming this happens to everyone?
i guess i need to dust off the hammer

well took the header off and showed it who's boss and now my 904 is slipping........ugh such is life. anyone got a trans?

I had to ding the header to make room for the tie rod end too. Any chance you accidentally knocked of the kickdown linkage while messing with the headers? That could make it slip under hard acceleration.

Yes, you definitely want that hooked up. You'll burn up your tranny quick if you do much hard driving without it. Especially if your making a lot of HP.

Good call 6pack!

For Thomas: That kick down linkage controls when and how the transmission shifts in relationship to the throttle, how long it will hold a gear and what throttle position that is desired for 'passing gear' to hit. Make sure that the spring is on, to hold it forward (that's probably why it's slipping). It can also be adjusted to do what you want but then, there are ideal settings.
