I have seen distributors that were just wore out. Check the movements and the bearings on the shaft.

I tried a vacuum pump and can get no resistance at all from the vacuum can. it just seems i am drawing open air. do i need a new vacuum can?

I know this has gone on for a while so hopefully this will be my last question im thinking my main issue is the stock distributor . I was wondering what replacement you guys would recommend. Attached are the specs of my rebuild . thanks for any advice pete

I dont think so... Your getting a 22* sweep.... So I dont think they are stuck, and you dont have the advance hooked up?
If the Motor Runs good up the RPM band to 2000 -3000... I would be looking possibly that the secondary on the carb might not be opening, If it's a Vacuum Secondary?
