COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 32nd annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Buddy Perkinson Runs 6.805/206.16, Now #1
Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 51 percent, barometer 29.26 inches, adjusted altitude 3,303 feet, track temperature 124 degrees.
Perkinson making his first pass of the year...he spun right at the hit, but drove it on through the quarter-mile.
Left Lane: John Gaydosh Jr No Time, Now #3
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.696/206.83, Now #1
Gaydosh Jr. broke after the burnout and was pushed off the starting line. Johnson was straight down the groove.

Gaydosh Jr. used up an engine and was trailing smoke all the way down the track. Apparently he got out of the groove and crossed the centerline. Perkinson made a move in the right direction, but not enough to get in the show.
