77 New Yorker

hi everyone, i just bought a 1977 new yorker w/ the 440cid as a project car. i have a repair manual on order but want some opinions while i wait for it. i installed a new battery and when i try and start it i get a single click from the starter and i xant find many diagrams or info online. does anyone have any insight on what may be going on. all info is appreciated. thanks

check grounds and check connections to the solenoid! ANY loose or corroded ones will affect everything.

This caught my attention, as I am a C-body guy. Did you try jiggling your starter wire, could possibly be that. That is what happen to one of my stepfathers cars, we went to start it and we thought the starter checked out, it was the wire. We jiggled it and it started.
