I was thinking to myself that the trim might have the trim washers/nuts on them inside the door. Good call Crazy!

i found the nuts that held the trim off and got them off ok but later i backed the car onto the bottom chrome and flattened it im gonna try to straighten it out tomorrow. I wetsanded and did the 2nd coat, I couldnt finish the second coat because it got dark but i got the front back and 1 side done. Ill finish up the other side tomorrow. Its lookin pretty good so far, what do yall think?ill get some better pics tomorrow.

I can see that if you really did some more wet sanding and polished it, it would really look great, and the paint just gets harder with time. That means it,ll polish up even better 3 or 4 months from now. Im gonna try it on a $200 S-10 pickup I bought.

my brother has just started painting a spare boot lid . it's on it's 3rd coat .
he got 40lt of industrial enamel ( paint for 44 gal drums ) . there was no prep other than a wipe down with wax & grease remover .
thinned about 40 -50 % .
two coats aplied with no sanding
then sanded 1/2 the boot & left one side unsanded , wiped down then painted again so far .
the sanded side allready looks better .
just testing now . looks good so far . he's also buying most of the stuff at $2 shops . it's cost $50 ( aussie $) & got 40 ltrs of paint free .
we will prep the car fully though .

i wish i could do some cool scallops like in hotrod but i dont have the skill to tape them straight. I will though paint the back line between the chrome blue to match the interior.

heres after more wet sanding and a 3rd coat. My arm is tired of all that sanding. Coverage is getting alot better, after the 3rd coat i can still see a little original paint, maybe after 4th it'll be completely covered.

finally got the final coat on. now all i gotta do is final sanding and polishing and a few touch ups. hopefully it'll be on the road soon. i got a few paint splatter spots on my windows. whats the easiest way to get that off? Will paint stripper work or will that be too harsh of a chemical for windows?

when i lived in florida last year i painted several cars with a paint called OMNICOAT. its costs about 100 bucks and they all came out beautiful!! its a paint kit that comes with everything .its easy to mix and easy to use (just dont inhale it because it comes with a hell of a buzz lol) i wish i knew how to put pics on here. i did a 1954 dodge panal van in a color called ROYAL BLUE from omnicoat and it turned out hot

heres the final finished product. It cost me about $110 for all the supplies and LOTS of work. I think it looks pretty good, better than what it used to. Definitely not a show car, but I wouldn't want the responsibility of a show car. I like daily drivers, cars doing what their meant to do, no just look pretty sitting in a garage. And if i get nicks of chips or ever get that dent fixed its a easy inexpensive fix to paint.
