Progress is being made my son [his car] is pleased, this weekend we set the 440/727 in for test fit [318 car from factory] to see about engine mounts fender clearance ect.

Funny story. That's a 71 R/T hood and I actually wound up buying a non-running 71 R/T just for the hood and trunk lid (had a little rust on mine). I paid $400 for the car, sold off most of the other parts for about twice what I paid for the car, and still have a few parts left...
One of the few times I actually got lucky with a car deal!!! That was back in 1980 something. Now I'm sorry I didn't even try to get the 71 running. Ah to be young and impetuous again...
BTW - my charger started off as a 318 car as well.

1st car at 16 yrs old before I even got my drivers licence. 72 charger 16 years later still have it. I put a 440 auto in it when I was 18 and repainted it original yellow.
