Exhaust advice please
This is my first post but I have been browsing this forum for quite some time and I have really enjoyed all of the knowledge you guys have shared.
I have a '72 dodge charger with a 360. It has a mild cam with a pretty hot ignition system and hedman headers.
I have done a lot of electrical and suspension work but I don't know much about exhaust. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as far as the pipe size/ muffler goes. Im looking for a sleeper type set up. Quieter idle but loud and aggressive when you give it gas. I also really like throaty exhaust sounds.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

I like the Flowmaster Delta 50 series muffler. They are real quiet when idling but when you get on it, they have a nice tone to them. There are mufflers out there though that flow much better which will give you better performance.
As for pipe size, I'd stay around 2.25-2.5. That is a good size for your motor and what you have done to it.

I'll say 2.5" pipe to Dynomax race series mufflers(glasspacks) with a baffle insert to bring down the DB's. You'll get that throaty sound you want without the volume. And you already have the headers so you're a step ahead of the game

Take a look at this chart. it will really help you out. X and H pipes both work the same with the X pipes allowing smoother flow. It is going to depend on what you can fit.

I read your thread on the restoration of your charger and i was wondering what rear suspension setup you used
