headlight issue

headlight issue

hey guys i have a 70 coronet and here is my issue can anyone please tell me why my headlights get very dim when i push my breaks or come to a complete stop and my blinkers wont even blink

i had that problem with my charger it was my regulator. check your voltage with a volt meter or with the engine running, you can take a screwdriver and touch the back of the altenator shaft. if its magnetic your charging, if not have your altenator tested and go from there.

Headlights

Read the link article about relays, you may have a regulator or alternator problem but this is for brighter lights.

If your charging ok while driving down the road and it shows a discharge stopped at idle well, thats characteristic of the classic mopar. You could try bumping up the idle a bit or go with a smaller pulley on the alternater. Probably the only other choice would be a higher output alternater.
