just picked this up
just got me a 73 satellite for a trade for my compact .45 ,it has a 318 in it. it was supposed to run. got it home and just turns over with fuel spewing out the top of the 1bbl carb so np , i just put a 4bbl intake and carb in it and still nothing but i noticed it wasnt gettin any fuel , put new pump in it and nothing just spins over, gets fuel , spark , air checked timing it 180" out put it back and nothing still just turns over. i think it might be the starter cause i put a new battery in it and it seems like it isnt turning over real fast any help would be great and i thought u would like to what a got 4 a trade.

i dont think its your starter chrysler starters are a 4.1 gear reduction so they do turn slower than most. i.e gm and ford. 1bbl on a 318? never seen that but okay. have you tried to primer the motor to see if it would start? maybe the carb is gummed up from setting.=+)

welcome to the forum first off!
Have you checked to make sure that you have compression? can you smell/see gas in the carb?
66 - I had a single barrel carb on my 78 d200 with a 318. dodge did make them but I will never understand why.

checked and hasgood compression all on cyclinders , i replaced the carb and intake with a 4bbl and a 600cfm so it gets gas(seen and smelled) and ive replaced cap, rotor, wires and plugs even put a msd coil also. gots real good blue spark and still just turns over. thats why i was thinking it might be a starter issue and i have to take the headers off to get the starter out.
O yea what years by chance is a replacement mini starter. from what ive read on the net its like a dakota v6 and v8 from 89 - ??

timing was right ended up pulling the starter out wasnt 2 hard after i got the header off it was bad so i bought a starter from a 91 dodge dakota v6 (mini starter and only 7lbs) cost me $60 from advance with lifetime warranty. didnt even have to change any kind of wiring. just make sure you hook the wires up b4 you bolt it on. i have a commerical discount at advance it normaly costs 83.49 plus tax and advanced took the old big starter as a core. put the new starter in and it fired right up. now 2 fix up the rest of the car.

well today was a sad day for my car on my way to the shop it died. walked to the shop and grabbed the tow truck and picked here up and brought here back took valve cover off looked a little dry i knew the oil pump was going bad so i got me a new hv pump. put the car up and started to remove oil drain plug and whats this i see but bright green fluid!!! it poured for like a while then the oil started to drain out and then a mixture off the 2 fluids. ok well i guess i have a blown head gasket. looks like i might as well just rebuilt it a not have to worry about anything else and gives me a good enough reason to clean up and paint the engine bay. it atleast gives me something to do at the shop for now.

update on motor build so far.
had the block cleaned and bored .30 over new cam bearings and brass freezes plugs put in. I went thru the shop and used the discount threw the machine shop we always use cost 207
bought a set of Keith Black pistons kb167 and moly rings from wheeler performance for 298
Now a Q about the crank should i just spend the 290 on a eagle 340 4" crank or should i have the 318 one redone? i know the 318 is 3.90" does the .1" make that big of difference? i want to try to do one of the 400hp builds like ive seen in some of the mags any help on this would be great
