First off, welcome.

Depending on where you live, your knowledge and abilities, and the mount of money you have, will pretty much determine what ya get in what condition. If you are really good with body work then look for something with a good drivetrain in it but needs body work, or vis versa if you are mechanically good.

I would save up as much as you can though and start off with a car that runs good and where the body is solid. You will probably pay more for it now but it will save you time and headaches later on down the road.

Well... a good car to start with would be a Dart, Duster, Valiant, ect... Those are the "cheaper" mopars...

But heres a 67 Sat for sale near me...

Good luck. I'm another young gun here... I'll be 18 in July.

While there are a lot of A-body mopars out there, I wouldn't settle on a car just because its a good deal. Save up for one that you really want. It will be worth it.

Sometimes you have to though. I want a 55 chevy... but seeing as how they are WAY more out of my budget, I'm good with my Dart.

And A-bodies are lighter and faster for racing.
