Which Winch??
My dad and I are very interested in taking our Charger to eddyville, and after seeing all the very experienced racers, with winches, My dad asked me to find a decent winch for the money. I have no experience, So for a 3600lb car, what would you reccomend?
Thank You for your input!

You don't need much to pull a car onto a trailer, and you can always use a ****** block at the load (car) end which will double the winches pulling power. I'd stay away from cheap Chineseo imports, like Horrid Freight.
Warn has always been a good brand. They make some which are sort of portable, that is, you can lay them out and hook them up with chain, rather than have them permanently mounted.
I would think a 1600 lb rated winch would be oodles. However, winch ratings, just like air compressors and electric tool HP is a huge lie. A winch with XX lb rating will normally not lift that amount of weight.
You probably don't want a HUGE winch, because you'll need more battery and larger cables, unless you plan on using the trailer for some sort of scrapping operations, IE dragging non roller hulks onto your trailer, etc.

Look around at trailer winches. You'd be surprised as to how cheap they are. Plus it's always nice to have incase you can't start your car to get it on the ramp or you find that next cool project that doesn't run.
I'd go for a 5k# ATV winch myself for a trailer.
The ratings on most winches are for a horizontal pull, not a veritcal (the drums are not designed for it).
