Putting in a Audio System

I am getting a audio system installed on Thursday on my 67 Fury Sport Ragtop. Everything will be hidden and ran by remote. Using the stock front and back speaker locations and putting a 8 inch sub in the trunk. My question is what do I have to buy to upgrade the electrical system to handle this? I know from last nights late ride that upgrades are required.

Ho Boy.. thats a question for 440roadrunner...Maybe he will chime in... Upgrade to the charging system is one, but Mopars have very rudimentary ways of doing things... And upgrades are not as easy to do with the 40+ year old wiring.....

I wouldn't be so sure about that. What were you referring to in your very first post about knowing upgrades would be needed. Mopars are notorious for poor connections leading into the interior @ the bulk head connector. They did some 'iffy' things that needs attention if you start drawing a lot of amps.... Surprised 440roadrunner didnt chime in...

Just for safety's sake I would keep a small extinguisher handy.

I'm not a stereo guru but, have a bitchin' stereo with 3 amps and 5 subs in my regular cab pickup truck....

I would recommend installing a capacitor (which kind of stores power) for your system which will soften the blows on the electrical system of your car....
