74 barracuda
new here .buying a 74 cuda great paint ,new interior parts and a 440 hp.front end all new rubber.have to put car together.just wondering about front suspension ,440 being heavier than original engine.what do I change .thanks for any info.
Other than the obvious ( radiator, motormounts etc) the only difference was the torsion bars. They were sized to match the engine size/weight. They are all interchangeable, just get whatever size you want. The Hemi cars used the 6 cylinder bars for the benefit of weight transfer (weaker bars) the heavier the bar the stiffer the ride but the better the handling. Good luck with th build I built those in the past. Good starter project just take your time. If you have other questions on the build post here or on www.Crazy4Carz.Com
sorry 74 cuda i would go with the E body ones (TB) with the same at .920 for that good ride , i have the .960's in my challenger but never seen any differance in the handleing
sonds like it is going to be a sweet ride

There are different "spring rates" for the torsion bars and yes! you can install big block abody torsion bars and it will handle like crazy. Also add an adco sway bar and it will be amazing. This is the setup we had on the One lap of america dart.
