Winter options

This winter I was planning on working on my 1973 Challenger. I have two things in mind work on the motor that is in it (not original) a LA 360 with J heads and an edelbrock torker 340 or swapping the motor for a 5.9 magnum. If I went with the magnum I would put an RPM air gap intake on it to make it carbureted. If I went 360 I would put a cam in it and stall in it and maybe a RPM air gap as well. Is there any other suggestions I want to keep it fairly cheap. Also I plan on running it in hot rod power tour so reliability is a factor. Thanks!

P.S. I know that the torker 340 is supposed to be bad and it's a single plain but I can't tell a difference from the performer I had because I have 3.91 sure grip.

Yeah, I'd go with the 360 you have and build it.

Agree, stay with the 360 (just personal opinion). While e a dual plane intake will give better street performance, with 3.90's the Torker won't be an issue, and if it is, you can correct the problem with a 1", 4 hole spacer. Been doing that for 10 years now, but mine is on a 440. Look into good mid range cams (3k - 6k) , usually staying below the 300 (total) duration / 500 lift will work. Comp Cams are pretty popular.
