Name: neoprene_rubber_strips.jpg
Views: 137
Size: 3.4 KB
Description: Neoprene Rubber strips, also known as weather stripping or rubber sealing strips, is commonly used in outdoor applications to block weather and moisture conditions. Well suited for indoor use, the neoprene rubber strips are resistant to most chemicals and detergents. The rubber strips do not absorb water or oil and stay flexible and resilient over many cycles of compression and use. Some rubber strips have an adhesive backing to peel and stick onto the metal, plastic or wood surface requiring rubber stripping for your application. Cuts easily with scissors and is flexible enough to bend into tight corners and complex angles for sealing or blocking out elements in tight spaces.

Applications:
Neoprene Rubber strips for weather stripping and garage doors, underneath bottom plates, marine equipment sealing rubber, engine compartment rubber seal strip, general purpose mechanical rubber stripping for outdoor or indoor use.

Car show Hooing..that's Ho with ing...

I found out that I would have been in a totally non-restored stock class minus the headers and wheels...I have found a set of chrome 15X8 Magnum 500 wheels with 4.5 back spacing..I will run some 60 series tires and will sell the AR wheels and tires to compensate for the cost..I ran the 440 Dart over to my storage and may I say it liked the cooler weather...I picked up the stock exchaust manifolds and remove some of the crap off of them...going
to sand or media blast them then use Por 15 factory grey high temp coating on them..

Okay the judging is in....Placed in 1970-79 hardtop

I expected more but should have not...I was in the Conservative 1970-79 hardtop classification...I was competing with 440 Cudas with $70,000 invested in them...mine is in need of some details and less headers and wheels to compete in a more stock classification...believe me I will read up on the ISCA rules and classifications before I spend anymore money....Placed is last....Outstanding is next and Best of Class is the best...the guy who sponsered me won best in class in the same class I was in....he spent mega dollars on his Cuda..

Got her back home tonight and again with no brake lights..I checked the brake light switch at the car show it had no power and all the fuses where good...found the wiring diagram and it showed the pink wire connected with the key buzzer and the dome light..they both work..so it has to be a loose connection somewhere...oh well glad my car is back home..

oh oh I got a couple of looks from the wifey tonight

I got home and got the keys for my storage...there were two boxes from RockAuto...I opened them up and got the following..lower control arm bushings...upper control arm bushings...sway bar bushings and so forth...the reason I went with rubber replacements is because they won't squeal and they come with the correct metal metal sleaves around the lower bushings...all of the poly ones state that you need to re-use the metal sleaves..one of my favorite sayings...GLWT...or for those still learning...Good Luck With That...more boxes tomorrow...OMG

Yep..I am lucky enough to have a press at work but some all thread with washers and nut on both ends do the job also...push the all thread through the bushing and control arm....tighten one nut and press it into place...

Got the exhaust manifolds back today $0.00 cost
I am pretty good friends with my machine shop....G&G Performance in Rosehill Texas...they called me awhile back with a request for some stock big block head bolts and the rear main aluminum cap and two bolts...I took them off of one of my 440's I have in storage and got them to them the next morning..I told him to credit me for some future machine work and he did...they shotpeened...milled the machined surfaces and drill and tapped the two holes were the backflow valve was before..I am gone for the weekend but as soon as I get back I will be coating them with the por 15...

Got the rear off tonight....
not the old lady but the Aspen's rear bumper and that god ugly black bumper support...it's going to work tomorrow and the bumper will go to chrome on Friday..up underneath the car these are the only things that show signs of rust...I ordered some primer and chassis black from Eastwood today along with 4 cans of black rust encapsulator and 1 can of undergone for the front radiator support...I am getting rid of the undercoating on it and will paint it black instead...

Little more done tonight....

Been using Evaporust to soak rusty bolts and nuts in...it really works good...used it on the bumper nuts..intake manifold bolts and such...then going to give them that high heat VHT flat black cooking...my wife loves this when I bake them on the back porch grill...I am off next week so will paint the exhaust manifolds and back them in the oven when see is at work......tonight I got what I will call the 5 mph shock absorbers off the rear...they are going to blasting...the inside of the pocket looks good but you can tell someone painted the rear portion with black paint..

If you are going so original, why are you using these red wires? very after market looking. It doesn't go with the original clamps and everything else you are doing.
