Hey I broke the oil sending line and lost my oil. Shut it off as soon as I heard the lifters. Put in new oil, and when it first starts sounds perfect but after couple minutes you can hear a light sounding knock deep in. If you excelerate it gets louder. A friend said if it starts, and has oil pressure which it does up to almost 40lbs, that it's just a rod bearing and I just need to put rod bearing in it and it will be fine . ??????

If it is a rod bearing then one of them probably spun which means pulling the oil pan and wiggling each one to see if you can find which one is loose. If that doesn't work, then you will need to pull each cap. Depending on the damage, it might be as easy as an over sized bearing or as extensive as replaceing the rod and crank. It's hard to tell without pulling the oil pan.
