Missing performance mod
Missing performance mod
Hi,
first post. I bought a 2008 Magnum R/T a few months back and decided I want to put some more juice in it. I've researched all the various turbo, supercharger options and came to the conclusion that if I added one, I'd end up breaking some of the stock drive train sooner or later. So, I did what other folks do and look into other less drastic options like cold air intake, cam 1,2,3 options, ported heads, etc etc. I was amazed at how much it's likely going to cost me just to get a hp producing camshaft installed with all the bells and whistles ...springs, pushrods, possibly lifters, etc. And it occurred to me that there is what seems to be a very large market not being addressed. And maybe someone can tell me I'm wrong and point out what I'm missing, but here goes -
What I really want is a medium cost, moderate hp super charger solution. I mean $4k and below installed or at the very least no more than $4k for the blower and performance at about 75 to 100 hp. That's all I want.
I think I would be happy getting my gen III from 345hp to anywhere from 400 to 450. From all that I've read, the stock drive train should handle that no problem. Then I'd like tuning of the shifting like a pedal commander or a chip or something to get rid of the flabby shifting. That's all I want. But, it ain't out there. Now, I can maybe get to those figures through multiple mods, but seriously...I'd love to have a small roots/twin screw or even ok would be a centrifugal to handle the higher end rpms like a turbo would behave. But for under $4k. I realize that option exists for other vehicles or smaller motors, but why not a cheaper and albeit somewhat underpowered SC option?
