I used Dwayne Porter at "Porter Racing Heads" and had him custom grind me a solid flat tappet cam. It works great as he is very good. Every car I see with his cams run great. You just give him your eng specs and he will spec out a cam for you. And the price was not bad at all. Ron

Figure out where you want the power, whether or not you care if it has street manners, weight of vehicle, gearing, etc., what else you want or don't want to do to the engine/ tranny, then you can pick your cam.

I wouldn't use a comp cam either. Just my opinion though.

Everyone has what they think is the best cam. It is all a matter of opinion. And the list will go on forever. I use Mopar perfomance it was what Carroll Shelby used and if it was good enough for him its surely good enough for me. And my car run fantastic...Bill

First thing you need to figure out is what gears you want to run in the rear, then if you want a different stall converter.
