Exclamation Alternator Pulley Removal

How can I pull an Alternator pulley?What tools I need? The Alternator is out of the car.(Barracuda)

There is a special tool used for that

The tool for that is a real parts saver, not expencive or stop at AutoZone and use thers. I wish I had a picture of mine but I have to get to work in a few min. I cant think of a way you can get around using the right tool for the job . Sorry

there is a tool for that. It is like a 2 jaw puller or a P/S pump pulley puller. I would think that you could rent one at a local parts store.

Thank you for your help but I think that I also need an ilustration of how to do the pull and the axact two jaw puller that I need.This pulley has a broad round button in the center of the double pulley.

Are there 3 screws holding the cover on?

Yes, there are 3 long screws holding the cover of the alternator.

Sounds Like a March Pulley

Hope this picture work's I have a new set since 1997 in the box but there are no instructions . The phone number to call is 1-888-729-9070. I could have pulled my new one apart but with my luck I would scratch it and I plan to sell it . Let me know what they tell you.

This is an aftermarket pulley, my alternator is original and doesn't have screws. The long screws that I refer are those that hold the cover of the alternator.But thanks for your attention.
