Exclamation just bought a 37 coupe

Well finally got back to the states and came across a 37 plymouth coupe. I am looking to keep it in original condition except for the drivetrain. Now what i am looking for is a bigger engine but one that matches up to original or close to the mounts. Also a tranny and steering box. Anybody got suggestions? I have heard that a 360 matches very well but i just want more umph to it but not so much raodster go. Any help would be great.

360 is the biggest engine that will bolt up, you got a choice between 273,318,340,360, without putting new mounts in for a big block

Welcome to the forum..... You can get a lot of power and umph from a built 340 or 360... The last small block I had made 650 hp with 396 ci... So don't give up on a small block.....

Thanks for the input and welcomes. I figured a 360 would be good but was unsure of the bolt pattern. Good to know that it will. What about the rear end and tranny? I heard about a explorer rear end and a cavelier steering but again unsure. i plan on bulking up the suspension up front with a mustang setup but as usual it is a slow process to make sure I got all my ducks in a row before blowing the checking account.
