Just bought a 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury!

I am looking for suggestions on anything I should do to the stock 318 to "beef it up" a little bit. I am not against keeping everything stock if the upgrades aren't worth it. I figured add a 4bbl., some headers, bigger intake, upgrade the cam, etc.....and that's it. Do you guys think this is a good move or should I leave everything alone and just clean it up, tune it up and enjoy what I have.

Thanks for the help......I really apprecaite it.

John

welcome to the forum, if you just want to drive the thing. and it runs really good, Id put an aluminum intake and 600 holley on it, But thats it. I wouldnt put a cam in unless your gonna rebuild it and then Id do a cam change, a little more gas will help it out, but,Id look at the gears, if you have an 8 3/4 there should be a small metal tag on 1 of the nuts holding the center section in, see what the gears are, probly 2.73. Id put some 3.23`s or 3.55 in it, thatll wake it up more then a cam change.

welcome to the forum
it all depends on what you want to do
if you dont care about stock and want more power, than build it up as you'd wish

welcome to the forum.. Check this out I found it very interesting. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/t...ild/index.html

Its how to build a 400HP 318, with nothing but bolt on parts and no crazy machining or porting. A build anyone could do. I have wanted to do it since I found the article. I think it would be very cool to blow doors off cars with just a little 318 lol. Especially when people ask what it's got in it and you tell them a 318. And they reply with some disgusted look or tell you that its a waist or whatever... lol It would definately have people wondering if your messin with 'em. lol Anyways hope it helps ya.
