I have always wanted a loud, fast car. Growing up in the 70's and 80's I never could afford one. Now I'm a little (a lot) older and finally got one. I wanted a Challenger, but the E bodies are out of my price range. I was driving to work last Friday and one block away was a yard sale with a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport. I stopped, found it rust free, and found a slightly built 318 in it. It started loud and proud and I was hooked. I gave them a few thousand to hold it and came back the next day in dirty clothes and crawled all over the car. No rust. Clean throughout. Ran well, though had a vibration at take off until higher rpm. I figured that it was already a great driver, and it had potential to build further so I bought it. It needs a few things. An instrument cluster with a working speedo which I just bought on eBay, a new dash pad to replace the split one, all the door weatherstrip seals, and I had to replace the torque converter to get rid of the vibration. I took advantage of the replacement and put in a mild stall converter. It is a great car. I have plans to replace the rear end with an 8.75 and drop in a bigger motor. I'd really like a 440, but for simplicity sake may go with a 360. Right now the possibilities seem endless, at least until I run out of money! I will be looking for advice and tips, no doubt. I also own a 1974 Triumph Spitfire and the forums were invaluable in putting it together. I hope to meet some new friends here, and I hope no one gets too annoyed with all the questions I am sure to have. There are some real killer 360 crate motors out there for not a whole lot of money. A 360 will require a differant torque converter tho...LOL

I like it, the wheels are awesome on that car. Too bad about the dash being cut for the radio, but that can be easily fixed.

I thought the same thing. I will probably search for a new panel at some point, but in the meantime I will probably pop in a din mount radio. Now that it is 49 freaking degrees here I found that the Edelbrock Performer is a manual choke carb that they never bothered to hook a cable to. It is wired open. It doesn't like the cold. I ordered an electric choke kit today.
