the 1965 383 if stock the 4 bbl is a 10.0 compression. a 2bbl 383 will be a 9.0 compression. if stock. the 4 bbl normaly will get better MPG on the HI way. if it has the Carter carb, if stock i think, DO NOT swap to holley. KEEP THE CARTER. a swap to the chrysler electric ignition is thought to be the best thing to do. if you do all ways have two ballast resisters in your glove box. any time it fails to start just swap the resistor right off. allso if the dist cap has a vent between the center tower and the outside tower plug the vent with JB-weld.

Welcome!

Yeah we're having some software issues that the host company is figuring out. I'm sorry about that.

OK so after we got her home, we found out that sometimes she does not want to start, when turning over the key it just clicks, then if you stay at long enough she finally starts, it has a brand new alternator and starter, this is my first Mopar product so I am having a few issues locating things. I've placed the tranny in drive and neutral to test to see if maybe its the nuetral safety switch and it appears that it is working fine. I had a friend look at it and he says it appears to be the solenoid which he said is on the firewall, I called for a replacement and according to the parts place the 65 solenoid was on the starter it's self. I am lost? Could it be the ignition switch he is referring to? HELP!!!!
