Old Dodge Codger

Hello all! I'm a lover of 50s iron and just took ownership of a 1957 Dodge Coronet...not the fancy hardtop...a simple four door sedan. But it has want I've been looking for...tailfins and pushbutton drive. They are the icons of my youth. In fact I learned to drive on my dad's 56 chrysler.
Dad was always a MOPAR guy and he passed that on to me. My everday driver is a 2009 PT Cruiser but I'm going to need help on some questions I have about the Coronet and I sure hope there's someone here who is willing to provide some answers.
Mike

Welcome to the Madness ! 57s are cool. My high school ride was a 58 2dr htp 325 hemi. I should have kept it. The new owner rolled it a few weeks after I sold it to him.

i agree the older cars are better than the new ones. easier to fix when something breaks and mor room to work in under the hood as well.

thanks

You folks sure made me feel welcome here. Thanks. The best car I ever owned was a 58 Chrysler New Yorker. Bought it used when I was a young whippersnapper in the Army. I had just gotten married to my first wife and less than a year later she wrecked it...ran a stop sign on post and did a real job on the front end. When she got home and told me about the accident I was smart enough to ask her if she was hurt (she wasn't) before I asked how the car was.

got a question here. My 57 Coronet has 14 inch wheels. I know that's not stock. Anyone know if they're supposed to be 15s or 16s. Can't find it in the shop manual.

embarassed

Well, my face in red. Found out today my 57 had stock 14 inch wheels. Could have sworn they should have been bigger. Live and learn...and blush.
