Vacuum problems satellite.

Hi I've got some serious vacuum problems with my 74 satellite 360.I had a mechanic rebuild carb and do a heap of wiring after a engine fire did a bit of damage. When he hooked it all up he left a few vacuum hoses of, I can't seem to work it all out or find some diagrams out there to hook them up.Of course in Australia there are none of these to compare with.Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Tony

Not sure if these will help...

This is what I have. May apply to your situation may not. Let's hope so. If not, this is a great place and hopefully someone else will jump in..

I will also post 2 schematics of the complete wiring diagram just in case..

Its only going to let me do a couple at a time for some reason.. So..

If I was a betting man I would say the charcoal canister went up in smoke and was not replaced. This would account for a handful of hoses...

Deco -

What carb do you have?
Engine stock or modified?
It's really easy to over think this.
There are a limited number of carb/manifold vac ports to deal with.

Have you taken a vacuum reading, what does the needle on the gauge do and what happens as you increase throttle pressure?

Thank you so much myraman for all of those diagrams, now Im going out to try them out b4 week is out. The carb is standard has is motor only thing is dual flowmasters. I will check canister too you could be on to something there. I've never had a car with so many hoses.ill be checking everything now. It was purring b4 the fire so I'm sure I'll get it going right.goes to show you can't trust some mechanics.

Just come back from re routing the vacuum lines they were all over the place. It looks like a couple of things have been removed over time or blocked off.So I go to start it and guess what,a flat battery.back out there on weekend and try again. Thanks again for diagrams.

I see Murphy showed up in your garage too. That would be Murphy of Murphy's law fame.. I'm surprised he made the trip to you, he's been in my garage for a long time!

Good luck

Most of those hoses and wiring are not needed anyway. Just a few will get you back on the road.

Went to start it but just wound over, so put some fuel down the carby kicked for a second.I think there might be vapour lock( it's extremely hot out here)Would a couple of the vacuum lines if not connected up right stop it from starting?Or maybe just fuel lock, how can I fix it?
