BRAINERD, Minn. - Notes from final, round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 29th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Mark Hogan Runs 6.777/202.70, Now #19; Best prior run: 6.749/202.55, Was #19
Right Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.761/204.11, Now #20; No Prior Run

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 28.47 inches, adjusted altitude 3,503 feet.

No help here for Hogan...Nobile with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will not get in the show.

Left Lane: Steve Spiess Runs 30.322/526.93, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.726/204.51, Was #15
Right Lane: Dave River No Time, Now #22; Best prior run: 6.938/199.35, Was #22

River has problems and doesn't make it to the burnout box. Spiess has problems on the burnout and does another one a short, still sounds like he has problems again. Spiess with major problems as soon as he let the clutch out and pushes it right back in.

Left Lane: Mark Martino Runs 8.288/119.31, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.717/205.22, Was #14
Right Lane: Rickie Jones Runs 6.684/205.85, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.890/173.61, Was #21

Martino makes a quick move toward the centerline and pushes the clutch in. Jones with a real nice pass to get in the show and that will bump out Coughlin for now.

Left Lane: Bob Yonke Runs 11.800/73.85, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.702/205.35, Was #14
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.686/206.39, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.741/204.08, Was #19

Yonke with problems early and pushed in the clutch. Johnson makes his quickest pass of the weekend to get in the show. Kurt Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.793, 660ft-4.298/163.77 mph, 1,000ft-5.595.

Coughlin is 2 - 0 against Gray in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round. Gray was just a tick too quick on the tree and turned on the red light. Coughlin with another great looking pass in the easy win. This is fourth win this season and his 52nd in Pro Stock.
