explain why it does not work. Is it short. is the linkage larger on the new edelbrock carb? perhaps you can post a pic of the, Im working on the same unit 1976

You may need to get a Lokar kit for it. Have you done a search on here yet? I think that there are pics of something like this on here. I may have some too.

This is the same problem I have. The fix I plan is modifiying the kick down lever with a push rod. If y'all can give me a few days I will post pictures and how I did it.

I went over to a friends house and we cut the kick down lever and used a push rod to make the difference we needed.But joe came up a little short so it will have to be redone.

Here are the pictures (thumbnails) to give y'all a general idea it does work and all told I only have $2.00 in the whole mod and a little wire from a mig welder.
