Will it make any real difference, maybe a little, and if you don't have a lead foot, you'll get better mileage, assuming you pick the right size carb, of course.
The real reason to do that,would be because bucks are tight, and you can start with the carb and get the manifold a little later, but again, lets be real, 318 manifolds aren't that expensive, especially if you look at the used market.
Unfortunately, the carb/manifold swap is only the first step, then headers, cam, etc.

Since yall are talking about carbs. My brother in law has an 83 318 with electric choke but the electric part doesnt work, is there a way to rig it to make it manual?
