got this here Mopar Delux and I'm trying to keep all the oil I put in it. just trying to gauge where I should start and so I ask the Mopar community. what are the most common oil leaks on a 1972 225? and which ones are the cheapest to do first?

 

If you have a rear mail leaking you might as well pull the motor and fix them all. Just be positive about the sorce of the leaks first…

 

I would say, If it has a lot of leaks, Just buy a gasket overhaul kit, Pull the engine out, Put it on an engine stand and go threw it and clean all the surfaces and install new gaskets and seals all the way around.
Check the engine compression before hand, just to make sure it is in good shape. And also check it for crankcase pressure, to make sure it is not excessive.

Before crawling under that make sure you have both an extra HD jack and stands or RR ties.

 

the usual suspects are oil pan and valve cover gaskets. i'd start there if it's marking its territory too often!

 

It definitely loves marking its territory, maybe ill start there. as much as I'd love to pull the motor on this thing, I currently don't have the time for that. I gotta keep it up and running too, she a workin girl.

 

Last Tug I worked on was for the LAX here in So-Cal.... But it had a Detroit 8V92 in it.... Talk about a pain in the Azz to work on....
