I'm not one for Weiand intakes. I had one kind of on a 78 318, it actually wouldn't bolt up or sit down all the way. You might want to keep an eye on that. FYI

Tim, were you heads ever milled on that 78?
Maybe thats why the intake didn't fit right

lifters need pushrods
get an adjustable pushrod first, then measure the exact size push rods you need

All OHV engines have lifters that rest on the cam. That is the small cylinder between the cam and the push rod. They usually come in a kit with the cam.

Im not sure of the pushrods. Make sure that they are compatible with the "LA" type of cylinder heads. Call comp cams and tell them what you are going to be using on the engine. Everything else it seems should work. Like an eldebrock intake better.

It was a reman motor with only 5K miles on it. I don't think they were. I just wasn't ready to pull the motor to send it out for that because funds were (and still are) tight.

i have heard that going both ways...
The 318s are one of two motors that Chrysler put out that are realiable. The other is the 225 slant 6. As long as you treat it right, you should never have a problem.
