Just bought a 77 Winnebego!
So, 440 Cu. In. Plant, assuming it is a 727, Don't really know much about motor homes, but it has a 440 The down side, it had a bad roof. Lots of leaks in the roof. I need to know if anyone has any experience with replacing a roof on a Winnebego.
Thanks!

http://www.eternabond.com/detail.asp?id=ebosmrvt My bad, mixed you up with the other E-body guy from the PNW. BTW, try Eternabond tape if the leak is a seam problem. Lot of buzz about that stuff.

Ahh...it's all good. Thanks for that link. We pick her up this evening, and I hope to have it covered this weekend so I can start drying her out. I would like to get started ASAP on replacing any damaged roofing materials. The wood up there seemed to be pretty wet. I'm thinking a whole new roof. Gonna see if I can find any RV forums where people restore these things. Only thing I have found so far is a blog that isn't really updated.

hmm...Thought I posted this last night.
What an adventure getting home! First, we stop for gas and realize there was no key for the gas cap. My leatherman, a screw driver, and some duct tape, and I am $50 lighter in the wallet for gas. Also picked up a 30'X19' tarp in case it rains tonight. Half way home the belts started squealing. On the exit ramp, I lost my headlights. My guess is the Alt belt is gone, or the Alt is. Strange the ammeter never went into the discharge side of the meter I'll pop the dog house off this weekend, and see if the belts are indeed bad, or if it is the Anternator. I also need to find the batteries and get them on the charger.

Alternator belt is gone. There was what was left of a belt hanging on the bottom of the motor. Lucky for me, it still had the part number on it. And, I found a new belt of the same number inside Ordered a pair of keyed alike gas caps, got a new air filter ( The old one was filthy ) and am looking for wiper blades. Now I need to find where I can get a replacement sewage tank, maybe a generator, and a new roof. Then I can rebuild the interior. Wow, that is going to be fun...

Bit of an update...
So, the Alternator bracket was broken I had it welded by a guy at work, and am just needing to put it back on. Also, I found a site where a guy replaced his roof. Quite easy, and probably MUCH less than what my moms cousin paid for their replacement roof. It seems you can pull the roof off, lay FRP on the walls, lay down ceiling joists, cover with plywood ( would it be better to use treated wood, like for boats? ) and cover with Snow Roof, and Elastoseal. It sounds like a fun long weekend project. I'm wondering how hard it will be to replace the water damaged walls?
