so im looking for a 440 and am thinking about the mopar440 super commando crate engine is it pretty good cause i have heard good things and bad thinks about them or should i just buy a 440 block and build the engine myself thanks

 

itd be better to built it yourself to your expectations and build it how you want it ! crate engines are great too but its up to you if you want to custom build it or just buy it prebuilt !

 

Sometimes the Mopar Performace crate motors are a little cheaper than rebuilding one especailly if you have a shop do it and may help get your vehicle ont eh road a little faster as they are already built and ready to ship most of the time. Great if you just want a motor (cruiser).

If you want your vehicle to do something specific (weekend warrior/strip car) then I would go to a engine rebuilder or build it yourself.
