PLEASE HELP traction bars problems
this may sound stupid ,but i bought some universal Lakewood traction bars,and im wondering if ive installed them right?i have the back u bolts tightly bolted down to the leaf spring behind the axle but are the front ones suposta be the same or free floating a bit,,if i tighten them all the way down i will need to pretty much remove the snubber,,lol,

If you removed them from the box and attached them to a Mopar........NO! They won't really do much for you except draw some attention to the yellow paint under the car.

I've been running traction bars similar to the Lakewoods since the late 70's on my Charger. Yes, they work and will limit spring travel on launch (just do a few launches with and without them and see for yourself). They also stiffen the springs somewhat. Both front and rear bolts or brackets need to locked down and you do need some gap between the bumper and the leaf eye. 1/2" is about average, but there's some trail and error required.

Traction bars are designed to stop wheel hop. They will do that job well if correctly installed. If your not suffering from wheel hop you won't see much if any differance other than a stiffer ride.
