Special Tool's ? Fuel Line
Special Tool's ? Fuel Line
Looking for some expert advice, I am in the process of doing a tune up on the wife's 1993 Chrysler and have run into a snag with the fitting's in the fuel filter. Do you have a favorite tool you use to release the fitting? I looked in the factory manual and it's not much help. There isn't much space between the filter and the fitting.
Thank You OutlawCuda
Hack Saw
Thank You for all your advice, the release tool was the way to go until I got to the outlet of the filter. I should have posted a picture, There was no room to get the tool in between the filter and the fitting. There was about a 1/4" of space at the most. Looked at it and after a while I decided to use the hack saw. Not my first choice but thats all that would cut the stainless tube. I put grease around the fitting to reduce the chance of a spark I think !!! Got 2 big fire extingwishers put on my fire suit and a nomex hood from the race suit . I wasnt going to take any chances. LOL Then I cut the tube of the filter and insterted a self tapping screw in the short stub of the tube, inserted the release tool and off it came. Never did see a spark but I had a close friend have a trouble light fall and break when they were repairing a fuel line. To this day all that is left is the concreat slab where a beautiful shop once stood. Have a Great Afternoon and Thank's again.
