Winter project
Winter project
Hello to all. It's been awhile since I posted but I have not forgotten about you all. I have been working on the underside of the car including gears, brakes, and suspension. It's has taken me the better part of the winter but it's so f#$%***cold in Northern NJ the cars not coming out of the gargae for months.. Enjoy the pics
Nice and clean
68 Sat - Nice work, on your 8 3/4, what gears did you end up going with for your engine/trans combo? Also, did you stay with 741 chunk or did you go to 489? If so what did you do for your drive line/ yolk? Again, another project I am doing
Need to do the front of my 67 Belvedere, any tech tips or insights would be great.
Thanks for the pics and any insight

I went with 489 Yukon case, 3.55 gears with a tru trac posi. After much deliberation the 4.11 would have been too much for the street and my 3 speed 727.
Yoke is a 1350 and I went with a Dynotech alum driveshaft. I measured it myself about 20x and installed myself.
She is a 440 bored .30 over with Eddy RPM heads, intake carb and a few other goodies..I have a few plans for her this spring to prep her for the track...
As far as tech tips I suggest a service manual and read, read, read. I also had the luxury of a 68 Coronet at the shop that I work with as a reference. I must have looked at that car 15x..Use the internet and google whatever you are looking for. Use youtube even if its not your make and model it will help with the basics.
I am a total weekend mechanic so the more knowledge you can acquire the better off you will be. Feel free to pm me anytime.
