Post 1979 Dodge Triple E Motorhome

Hi I have a 1979 Dodge Triple E motorhome I can get it to start but it backfires I have checked the distributor cap and cleaned all the contacts checked the plug wires and they too are good. I am a do it yourself kind of girl and mechanically inclined. Just not sure where to look next to try and fix this backfiring problem. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Check the Carburetor to make sure the Accelerator pump is working?
Also, Make sure all the vacuum hoses are in good shape and not cracked or have fallen off..

Keep us posted
