727 help what happened

i went and raced my car last night and it seemed fine the first run and i went to go stage up and launch and it like wouldnt go like if i throw it in to real low it will move other wise it wines up real high and really doesnt move is that the converter or trans i say it the trans i need some help ........btw i won the first race by four cars to bad she couldnt give me more any help apperciated

same thing happend to my car, i still havent figured out what it is, i hope we can figure it out

hahaha it a great big problem cuz now i ahe no car so yea hopefully we can figure it out asap

i ran it only one run like once thats it other wise i drive it around its my daily

More then likely you fried the clutches.

And/Or the bands are toast.


You're probably going to want to take it apart and have a look at the drums.

You may have ran it too low on ATF, and thats what caused the burning smell. The smell is a very bad smell...

If it started to whine then you did burn up something inside and the tranny will need to be rebuilt, the convertor replaced and the cooler and lines flushed and back flushed. I take it the fluid is brown in color? If so, I would not bother replacing the filter and just go for the rebuild.

If the filter is clogged, then you can replace it and it may get you another day or another month of driving easy.

Racing a DD is fun but can take it's toll on parts that are already worn out or getting there. With trannies, sometimes they just let go, as in your case, or sometimes they show signs, like slipping, taking a higher RPM to shift/start moving, etc..
