I couldnt imagine why not. An A998 is just another version of the 904
But i believe they had different sets of gear ratios then lets say a 1968 904.

Thanks so one for a 904 will work. Since it's a lock up tq I am thinking of getting a shift kit and and a torque converter ( i am guessing one from a 360?)
