Automatic to 4sp trans swap
I would like to do the swap someday; has anybody here done this? (auto to manual tranny swap) I located an A-body pedal kit, don't know what it came off of (are all A-body parts interchangeable?)
My Dart is a '70 Swinger w/ a 318 column shift auto. What year tranny's will work for me? I would like to start looking for one. Did the early Darts have the same 4sp as my 70? Will I need to canibalize any other parts of a donar car? Will the bell housing match up? What about the cross member / mount? Will my Dart have the right mounting stuff under there to install the pedal kit?

We wanna do the same thing to our '70 Cuda. I think as long as its an LA 318 all of the bell housings will match up, I may be wrong, but most engine/tranny stuff was interchangable with these old mopars. We used a tranny off a 73 plymouth and it matched up with our 70 engine.
