I would like to do the swap someday; has anybody here done this? (auto to manual tranny swap) I located an A-body pedal kit, don't know what it came off of (are all A-body parts interchangeable?)

My Dart is a '70 Swinger w/ a 318 column shift auto. What year tranny's will work for me? I would like to start looking for one. Did the early Darts have the same 4sp as my 70? Will I need to canibalize any other parts of a donar car? Will the bell housing match up? What about the cross member / mount? Will my Dart have the right mounting stuff under there to install the pedal kit?

This seems like a bit more of a project than I am willing to undertake at this time! Thanks for the link tho. Good info there.

I think I will stay with my auto trans. Maybe a floor shifter someday ( B&M ratchet ) and I like the bench seat. My sweetie can sit a little closer than she could with buckets...

Any thoughts as to a bench seat with a floor shifter? I know the factory had optional 4 speed with bench seat combo. Dunno/?
