need help swapping Holley carburetors

I have a 84' D100 with a 225 slant six I've been having problems with, I finally figured out what the problem was but in the process two extremely hard to find parts on the carburetor were damaged. The truck had a Holley 1945 1BBL carb with a Solenoid Idle Stop and the new carb I bought does not have it. Can anyone walk me through this?

If you haven't already given the old one as a core take the solenoid off of it and put it on the new carb.

I would except one hole isn't threaded and the other doesn't exist. Plus I have three screws that weren't on the original. It's the same carb except the new one isn't designed to work with the "electronic spark control system".

Lose the lean burn system then. Install an old school Mopar ECU with the wiring harness and distributor. That way you get the best of both worlds. A better non-electronic carb and a better ignition system.

I would swap the intake for the Alum 2 bbl super 6 & use a 2 bbl carb , I had a 225 a few years ago & ported a cylinder head , milled thehead .100 & swapped to the 2 bll intake with a Holley 350 CFM 2bbl using an adapter plate & ti made a huge difference in power & milage , I was averaging 23MPG in the city

oK, I've tracked down the correct carb but I'm not sure if I want to simply replace or get rid of the lean burn system. If I get a new ECM what year and what model do I need to pull it from?

1970 to 1976 A Body will have them or newer 1977 t0 1980 F and M bodies will have them or you can buy the whole kit at Mancini Racing or Summit Racing that includes the wiring harness, the ECU, and the distributor.
